Our Valentine litter is filled with rare Blue Merle's and Silver's. These are Rahab and Davy's. (Davy's first offspring!) 7 girls and 4 boys. The black pups are beginning to show their silver! Will be 8 weeks old on Valentine's Day!

Our St. Patrick Litter has 6 boys and only 1 girl! These are Pippi's and Buddy's. There are 3 reds, 2 apricots, and 2 creams. One of the apricots has a very rare black birthmark! These ups are gorgeous! Will be ready to go in early March

When you think of Lassie or Old Yeller, you picture in your mind that ideal dog that is always by your side, protecting you and playing with you, and is so incredibly smart that it seems like they can read your thoughts and understand everything you say. That's the kind of dog that we at THOMPSON'S PROVERBS POODLES strive to provide with every pup. When some people think of poodles, they think of prissy little dogs that like to be pampered. However, poodles are one of the most versatile breeds of dogs that ever existed! Here's a little more information about this marvelous breed...
Did you know that they make great hunting dogs? They were originally breed to be water retrievers. However, people quickly realized so many of their other wonderful traits that Poodles were soon used for many other purposes including, but not limited to, service dogs, acting and entertainment dogs, guard dogs, and "arm-candy" dogs. Their snazzy looks always turns everyone's heads. They are hypo-allergenic, too! Never been able to own a dog because of your allergies? Now you can! These dogs are incredibly protective of their family while maintaining a very friendly disposition once they know someone is friend and not foe. They are also the smartest dog you will every own! They are listed as the second smartest breed, only being beat by a Border Collie...however, they are much calmer than a Border Collie! A poodle is more like a human than a dog. They listen to you and understand you. It's like they can see inside your soul. They also make excellent foot-warmers! What more could you ask for!
Poodles come in three main sizes: Toy, Mini, and Standard. In the Standard size, there are also 3 sub-categories: Moyen (the smallest standard), Standard (regular), and Royal (the biggest of the Standard size). We have studs and litters available in all sizes!

Breeders who are Experienced and Devoted to Developing Exceptional Poodles
For the past 10 years we have dedicated ourselves to producing quality AKC poodles for pet and therapy homes! We do our best to breed towards beautiful conformations and flashy colors while maintaining the incredible personalities and intelligence that we have experienced in our fur babies.
Our dogs are our best friends. We want the puppies that we raise to be that one, special best friend that your children will grow up with. We give our all to every litter. If life happens and we see that we cannot give everything to our puppies, then we will take a break from having litters available. We only want our pups to get the highest quality of care. This is why you need to take advantage of getting one of our puppies when they become available.
We believe that both nature and nurture work together to form a dog's physical, emotional, and mental traits. First, we focus on nature by breeding two wonderful poodles together that exhibit the very best of the traits we desire. After conception, we do our part to help nature by providing the best vitamins to enhance brain development while pups are in utero and establishing a stress-free environment for the mother dog.
From the moment of birth, we begin focusing on the nurture aspect. We begin working with each individual pup to help improve performance and develop the characteristics that our pups are known for: extremely healthy, a very high intelligence, well-mannered, a friendly and outgoing personality, and ready to be easily trained for whatever comes next in their life.
We carefully and methodically utilize early neurological stimulation with our puppies to give them a superior advantage. The advantages include improved cardio vascular performance, stronger adrenal glands with a greater resistance to disease, a higher tolerance to stress with mental calmness, and a more inquisitive and open mind that is ready to be grown and trained.
Next, we offer a rich environment for our puppies to grow up in. At the appropriate times, we begin to introduce them to a huge variety to sights, smells, sounds, and experiences. With positive reinforcement, our puppies are more copacetic to unusual stimuli that un-nerves other puppies.
Our days are filled with spending quality time with each pup on a one-on-one basis and in group settings. Our puppies are raised in our homes in temperature-controlled and stimulation-enriched environment. Besides our families which include older family members to babies, we also have a variety of friends from young to old who help socialize our litters on a daily basis.
Our puppies understand and experience what unconditional love is from the moment they are conceived. Every moment of their life with us, we make deposits into their emotional banks with our love till their love-banks are overflowing. This way, when they go to their forever-homes, they will have plenty of love to give to their person for the rest of their lives.
Meet the Breeders: Jessica Thompson, Founder
Jessica Thompson is the founder of Thompson Proverbs Poodles beginning with her beloved Henry. Henry is the one who won Jessica's heart to Poodles.
Jessica always loved dogs, but unfortunately was allergic to them so had to keep them at a distance although her family had them on their farm. After research, Jessica's mom discovered that poodles have hair instead of fur like most dogs and they are hypoallergenic. This meant that Jessica could finally open her arms and heart completely to a dog.
Now, as an RN herself, married to a highly educated chicken farmer (poultry scientist) and rural physician, and a mom to 5 human children, her concern for health and preventative measures extends to her beloved animals. Her health interest in animals started with horses when she witnessed what protein disorders could do to them. Genetics and health-testing became a major focus in her life as she watched a much-loved horse succumb to a protein disorder. Now, she continues to focus on genetics and health-testing with her poodles.
Jessica is a crazy-hot mess, and she raises her human kids and poodles as true-farm animals. On any given day, you can see her kids and poodles all clean, groomed, and dressed to a T in their very best...or you may find them all rolling in mud together. But every day, you will always find them living their very best life to the fullest.
Meet the Breeders: Dixie Walker
Dixie Walker has never been without a dog in her life from the moment she was born. Born in Nashville, she was raised on a farm with horses, goats, cows, chickens, ducks, cats, and of course, dogs. She even had a pet skunk growing up!
She began working at a veterinarian clinic at the ripe-old age of 11 years old! She spent every free minute she had as a pre-teen and teen at the veterinarian clinic working for free or nurturing her own animals on her farm. She learned and developed under her veterinarian's tutelage and through her own independent study and research on animal behavior and care.
As an adult, she got her pre-med degree from Lipscomb University, but then decided to become a homeschooling mom to 4 beautiful daughters. She continued to have a love for all animals and all breeds of dogs, and she had a special fondness for dog-training. Now, she is using her knowledge and experience to being a responsible breeder of the dog breed that she believes to be one of...if not THE...very best!
